Implanon ContraceptiveImplanon®

Implanon®, the first and only 3-year, single rod implantable contraceptive has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It offers highly effective protection against pregnancy - 99.6% and is good for three years. The implant is not visible under the skin and is placed in the office using a simple procedure. To learn more visit www.Implanon.com.

Essure Insert Permanent Birth ControlEssure®

Essure®, a new option for permanent birth control has been approved by the FDA. Unlike a traditional tubal ligation or vasectomy, there are no incisions or punctures made to the skin. The procedure can be done in approximately 20 to 30 minutes and only requires a small amount of IV sedation instead of general anesthesia. It provides permanent birth control without the use of hormones.

A small camera is placed through the cervix and the openings of the tubes are identified. A small micro-insert (coil) is placed into each tube. Over the course of three months the body's own mechanisms will create scar tissue over the coil permanently sealing it. A test known as a hystersalpingogram (HSG) is done three months after your procedure to confirm tubal closure. You MUST use some form of back-up contraception for three months. This will be discussed at your visit. Visit www.Essure.com for more information.

Novasure Heavy Bleeding ControlHeavy Bleeding? Novasure® may be your answer

Are you tired of having to cancel plans just because you're afraid to leave your house when your cycle comes? Are you dying to wear white again? If you have completed your family and want to end menstrual cycle misery a simple procedure known as Novasure® may be the answer to your prayers. Novasure® is a device that is used to destroy the thin lining of the uterus. After this procedure most women will no longer have menstrual cycles at all. Although cessation of menstrual cycles is anticipated, some women will continue to have a light period. This is usually much lighter than the cycles you are accustomed to. A rare woman will experience no change in her cycle.

Novasure® does not alter the way hormone production occurs in the ovaries so you will not be in menopause even though you may not have periods. Menopause will happen naturally at whatever age you were supposed to go through it. The average age for menopause in our country is 51 years old. Novasure is not intended to be a permanent means of birth control and you will want to talk with your doctor about your options. For more information visit www.Novasure.com.
